Ash is considered a hardwood deciduous tree. It
grows in humid areas of Europe, Caucasia and
Asia Minor. The heartwood and sapwood are
clearly distinguishable. The sapwood is thick and
almost white. With age, a clear heartwood formation is created, and it is sharply distinguished
as grey, brownish or olive-coloured. The wood is
resilient, heavy and hard.
